About us

PGG Wrightson Wool shares its history with the development of the New Zealand wool industry.

Since the mid 19th century there have been plenty of changes in farming practices, industry restructures and company names, but the importance of the natural fibre of wool remains as strong as ever and so too does the association between wool growers and the modern stock and station agent.

PGG Wrightson Wool is proud of its continuing role in the wool industry. As New Zealand's leading agricultural servicing group, the company has a strong commitment to the industry's future, on the land and in the market place.

As always there is plenty of work to be done assisting growers in maintaining and improving quality flocks, in managing them year round for optimum wool production, and in preparing harvested fleece for the discerning eyes of buyers and processors.

Beyond the farm gate, the industry continues to face challenges in securing full recognition of the value of wool from New Zealand and its rightful place as a premium fibre for garment making, carpet and textiles across the world.
